Who I am

I'm a high school student who got into AI research the unconventional way.

No connections, and no lab internship program. I just cold emailed researchers directly, and that's what got me interning at an R1 CS lab, publishing my own research, and a mentor who personally set up meetings for a top AI conference paper that's in the works right now.

Basically, I figured out a process for finding researchers, writing emails they actually reply to, and turning that into real research experience, all without any existing connections.

What this site is

MLEnglish is a library of AI and machine learning research papers, translated into plain English.

Every article covers what the researchers actually did, what they found, and why it matters, and you don't need any machine learning background to follow along.

Every page also ends with a Jargon Decoder, which defines all the technical terms that came up along the way.

The tutoring program

I also teach a small number of students, one on one, how to do exactly what I did, which is going from knowing nothing about AI research, to cold emailing real researchers, to finding a project actually worth working on.

It's ten one-hour classes, and you pay one class at a time at $100 per class, so it's not a $1,000 commitment up front.

If it's not a fit after the first class or two, you just stop booking.

After the ten classes, I keep reviewing your cold emails and paper picks for free, for as long as that's useful to you.
